Michael Kott and I have been discussing him being on the Twisted Groove for a long time now. He is often times out of the state or out of the country touring and it’s hard for him to commit to a show. The other week I got a call from Michael wanting to do the show. So we put all previous plans for this weeks show on hold and got Michael into the studio for some live treated cello and we also preview music from his forthcoming album and some tracks from a recent live performance. Get ready for some Transgalactic Electro Groove….

A few weeks back I found a vinyl record of Alice Coltrane and Carlos Santana that I had never seen before. I of course purchased it. While listening to it I was brought back to other records I have that are similar in time and spirituality. It got me thinking about doing a radio show with this record as the springboard. This week I heard somewhere that it was Santana’s birthday so I decided that the time way now. This weeks Twisted Groove is a spiritual music journey. Enjoy…

My niece Ellia has been staying with me recently and I wanted to do a radio show with her. So I thought long and hard on what Twisted Groove type of show she would enjoy most. So I came up with an Eastern tinged show. This show had great phone caller response and was a blast to do. Ellia called back the music and she and I both had a great time.

Audio Buddha and the Buddha Machine Edit

This week’s Twisted Groove show consists of an interview with and the music of Audio Buddha (Steve Brisk). An interesting blend of eastern sounds and electronica. In the second half of the show I mix the Buddha Machine with Richie Hawtin’s record DE9/Closer To The Edit/Parts and throw in some Muslimgauze and Shankar for a more traditional ending to the evening. I have also edited out the Buddha Machine mix as a separate file for you download/listening pleasures.
