I went and saw the Dex Romweber Duo the other week and it got me back in the mood for some raw rock-n-roll. I purchased their 7” 45 at the show and then started looking online at what else Jack White’s label was up to. Well Jack has a whole series of 7”s that he is producing out of his studio in Nashville and releasing on his Third Man Records label. So I proceeded to buy a bunch of these and to formulate a radio show around them. So then I remembered a conversation with my friend Todd Scalise about the movie “It Might Get Loud” and that Jack had mentioned Romweber as a big influence in that film. So I called Todd up to see if he might do the show with me. So the results is the dirty punk garage blues psychedelic show below.

Rockin Into 2010 Part 1

The first Twisted Groove show of 2010 is a rocking affair. I decided to start the New Year off with rocking good fun. For this show I was assisted with song selection from my fellow music lover Dana Brownrigg. I just come back from vacation from both work and radio. During my time off I contracted a few different viruses and was feeling sick and completely exhausted. That did not stop us from creating a beautiful show of both old and new rockin music to start off 2010.

Note: A avid listener has noted to me recently that the RSS feed only downloads the first set of each of my post so to cure this I will be creating a post for each hour of each show.

Factory Records Special

The Factory Records box set, “Factory Records: Communications 1978-92″ was released January 12, 2009 (having been delayed twice already). It is compiled by Jon Savage including an essay by Paul Morley and artwork by Peter Saville. It is a great overview of the record company’s output but is obviously missing some tracks that die-hard fans might have expected on the compilation. For this week’s Twisted Groove I play many tracks from the first two discs dating between 1978-1984 with one New Order tune from the third disc. A probable future follow up show will complete the history of Factory Records 1983-1992. This will include the Happy Mondays, Electronic, Northside, James and others. I hope you enjoys the Twisted Groove’s spin through some of Britain’s music history.
