Winter Solstice, Christmas, and the New Year 2025

Tonight’s Twisted Groove is leaning into the season as we celebrate the Winter Solstice, Christmas, and the New Year. I don’t usually do holiday themed shows, but my girlfriend Dana loves that shit! She’s been steering the ship with her encyclopedic Christmas music knowledge and a whole lot of holiday affection. Expect a wild, festive spectrum featuring: Bjork, Sun Ra, Wolf Alice, Khruangbin, Esquivel, T. Rex, The Zombies, The Greedy Bastards, Iggy Pop, Slade, Man or Astro-man?, Grandaddy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Shonen Knife, Pink Floyd, The Monkees, Mike Oldfield and more. Tune in on KSFR 10p to midnight MDT 101.1 fm or KSFR dot org for a unique auditory adventure. Radio streaming link in comments.

Cheers to the season, Listeners.

Love, Spinifex

Factory Records Special Vol 2 Part One

The Factory Records box set, “Factory Records: Communications 1978-92″ was released January 12, 2009 (having been delayed twice already). It is compiled by Jon Savage including an essay by Paul Morley and artwork by Peter Saville. It is a great overview of the record company’s output but is obviously missing some tracks that die-hard fans might have expected on the compilation. For this week’s Twisted Groove I play many tracks from the third and forth discs dating from between 1984-1992. This is the second installment of the Factory Records special which includes the Happy Mondays, Electronic, Northside, James and others. This is a very fun dancy side of Factory Records. I hope you enjoys the Twisted Groove’s spin through some of Britain’s music history.
